Walk & Talk Individual Therpay
Service Description
Together with your counsellor, you will select a walking trail that's of reasonable distance for both of you, of easy to medium difficulty, approximately 1-1.5 hours in length (or less if you so choose), and that trail will be the location of your therapy session. Research has demonstrated that walk & talk therapy provides the traditional benefits of therapy with the additional benefits of being in nature. Gentle movement and a more natural setting can make nervous system regulation more accessible, and the switch up from traditional offices helps dismantle power dynamics and institutional influences that often seep into traditional talk therapy. You'll walk side-by-side with your therapist, meaning reduced eye contact demands, which can make talking and connection a bit easier for some. Get your steps in while you explore more about yourself, and yes, you can bring your dog! Walk & Talk therapy is an appropriate option for anyone over the age of 5+, and for folks with various capabilities. If you or your child has physical limitations and/or is unsure if this option is right for you, please don't hesitate to contact us. For all participants, please book a free consultation before you book your first Walk & Talk meeting.
